About Crandon
In the 1800’s the logging industry was king in the North Woods of Wisconsin which led to the settling of many towns and villages in the area, such as Crandon. Today, Crandon boasts a population of 1,800 residents.
The city of Crandon offers a large number of recreational choices. With four lakes within the city and the opportunities available in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Crandon is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. The area offers sport fishing, boating, swimming, hunting, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. One can also just enjoy the serenity of the forest which covers covering over a million and a half acres spread over 11 counties in Northern Wisconsin.
Crandon is also proud to be the home of the “World Championship Off-Road Races.” Featuring professional off-road truck and buggy racing action at the world famous Crandon track. Every year, drivers from all across the country come to Crandon to compete on the famous Crandon International Raceway for a chance to be crowned the champion.
