About Cudahy
Cudahy is primarily a residential community with 18,267 residents and is located on Lake Michigan with quick access to Mitchell International airport airport and the interstate.
The city got it’s name after Patrick Cudahy purchased 700 acres of land in the late 1800’s from the Town of Lake. Since then, Cudahy has become a lakeside city with tons to offer. Cudahy has over 800 acres of parks within the city, including an 18 hole executive style golf course. Sheridan Park is located right on Lake Michigan and has baseball diamonds, a pool, and a statue honoring Patrick Cudahy. South of Sheridan Park is the Warnimont Dog Park, a 5 acre lot that offers dogs the chance to explore off their leashes. The park also offers a separate, fenced in area for smaller dogs.
Cudahy offers a wide range of family-friendly activities for everyone to enjoy! The Memorial Day Celebration is held each year at the Cudahy War Memorial and offers speeches and a live performance by the Cudahy High School Band. This is a laid back experience for those looking to celebrate the holiday and remember those who fought for the United States of America. On the 4th of July, head downtown for the holiday parade and fireworks in Sheridan Park once the sun goes down. The Annual Wine Tasting Event and Fundraiser takes place every October on a Friday and allows residents the chance to raise money for a good cause, all while drinking wine.
